For my first review as a member of the Mosaic Review Team we started with reviewing some free blog planners. I chose Mamma Jenn's Blog Planner. I liked the look of it and I love checklists. It seemed tailor made for me.
I freely confess to having an addiction to planners. I love them. Homeschooling planners, blog planners, menu planners, household management planners.... You get the idea. Now if I was as good at putting things into action as I am planning I'd be unstoppable. I think it has to do with being one of the most disorganized people on the planet. It wasn't until I had kids with the same problem that I discovered this had a name - executive function disorder. Therefore planners are very important to keeping track of things in my home.
It's been a long time since I did reviews on a regular basis and I needed a planner that would help me be accountable and help me remember to do all the things I need to do when submitting a review. This one fit the bill for me. I liked the layout - it was easy on my eyes.
Though the planner has some color it used little ink while printing. I am happy for any excuse to use my Proclick Binding System and assembled it myself. I printed the cover on a colored piece of Cardstock and used regular paper for the rest.
I have a Brother Laser Printer that I use for black and white printing for most of our schoolwork and recently got a HP all in one for color printing, scanning and faxing. I printed it out on the HP and was pleased at the print quality. This can also be taken to an office store for binding if you wished. Below you will find a picture and description below it for each page in the planner.
First you have a month at a glance. I liked this because it helps me to have an idea of how to pace myself if I have several reviews due in one month. Eventually I hope to use it to blog more about our school and just our life in general. As you can see there are checkboxes for 'Scheduled', 'Facebook', 'Twitter', 'Google Plus' and 'Pinterest'. This is a handy way to make sure you promote your blog post and prevent accidentally sharing it more than once.
The next sheet is the Monthly Blog Planner. It is divided into two columns. I can jot down all of the posts I have to write in a given month if I am in a hurry and come back and enter them on the main sheet at a later date if I'm in a hurry.
The next sheet reminds me to note any giveaways connected with a blog post. It's something I can easily forget if I don't write it down.
This is for any other notes connected to a blog post - such as a Facebook party for the vendor or a hashtag for a certain vendor or product.
I am very pleased with this product. It does a great job of organizing my thinking in one place as opposed to a bunch of sticky notes in a composition book or on my computer. The best part is that is free to download. You can find it here. I highly recommending checking out Mama Jenn's entire site - there are a lot of free printables there.
